According to Danny Maduray, Ria Sebetsa Security Services CEO, five suspects robbed a woman and her passengers of R35 000 in cash, as well cellphones and wallets, in Halfway Gardens. It is suspected that the five men followed her after she withdrew the large sum of money from the Standard Bank in Sandridge.

Maduray also reported that the suspects fired two shots before fleeing the scene and that passing school children from Midrand High school were traumatised witnessing the ordeal and hearing the gun shots.
