Shopkeeper arrested for alleged rape of his landlord’s 10-year-old daughter in Kaalfontein

KAALFONTEIN – Shopkeeper arrested for alleged rape of 10-year-old.

 

A shopkeeper was arrested on 20 April in Kaalfontein for allegedly raping his landlord’s 10-year-old daughter.

The 31-year-old suspect is a tenant and operates his shop from the yard of the victim’s family.

According to the spokesperson for Ivory Park Police Station, Captain Bernard Matimulane, the girl’s mother returned home in the afternoon on 19 April to find her daughter crying. When the mom questioned the girl, she told her that the shopkeeper had raped her while her older brother was out of the house.

“Shortly after the brother went out, the suspect allegedly began making some lewd moves on the girl until he allegedly raped her,” said Matimulane.

The mother opened a case of rape at the Ivory Park Police Station.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrates’ Court soon.
