Residents invited to a silent protest against cabinet reshuffle

MIDRAND – Residents are invited to join a silent protest in Midrand on 31 March, against the recent cabinet reshuffle.

 

The community of Midrand is invited to join a silent protest on 31 March against the cabinet reshuffle that has been announced by President Jacob Zuma.

The protest has been organised by the DA councillor for Ward 132, Annette Deppe together with business people from the area. The country woke up to the news of the reshuffle on 31 March. Some of the changes were the axing of Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and his deputy, Mcibisi Jonas, Transport Minister Dipuo Peters, Department of Energy Minister Tina Joemat-Pettersson and Department of Public Service and Administration Minister Ngoako Ramatlhodi.

“We are asking civil society to join us in the silent protest against the reshuffle. If you are a concerned citizen, come and join us in this action,” said Deppe.

The protest will commence at 4.30pm starting from the east side of the Mall of Africa parking lot and will proceed to the bridge at the south of Allandale Road.
