MIDRAND – A 10-year-old will represent Halfway House Primary School in the National Athletics Championships.

Tanaka Ruzwidzo, who is in Grade 4 at Halfway House Primary School, will represent the school in the National Athletics Championships at the Kenneth McArthur Stadium in Potchefstroom from 23 to 25 March.

The 10-year-old Ruzwidzo, along with three other children from the school including Hlelelwe Msibi, Akhelwe Msibi and Josh Tshimanga, competed at provincial level at Pilditch in Pretoria on 4 March.

Competing in this competition earned Ruzwidzo a place in the national competition. She was one of the lucky schoolchildren honoured by the Gauteng Department of Education on 17 March for making it to the national level of the competition.
