Lungile Dhlamini appointed as new managing director of Pikitup

After consultation with the Executive Mayor, Herman Mashaba, councillor Nico de Jager and the City manager, Dr Ndivhoniswani Lukhwareni, the board of Pikitup is pleased to announce that Lungile Dhlamini has been appointed managing director of Pikitup with effect from 1 May.

Dhlamini has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in civil engineering from the University of Cape Town and a certificate in municipal finance management. Dhlamini is a registered engineer and serves as a board member of the Engineering Council of South Africa. He has served as the managing director and accounting officer of Joburg Water since October 2012 and prior to that, he served as an executive director in the City of Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality.

Dhlamini has worked locally and internationally in the water and waste treatment sector and has 20 years of experience in senior management positions. Board secretary at Pikitup, Francois Dekker said, “Management and organised labour are unanimous that his qualifications and experience will be invaluable to Pikitup. His appointment ushers in a new chapter of stability in Pikitup and we congratulate him on his appointment.”
