Midrand High School is inviting community members to attend its fundraising fun run at the school on 25 March.

Those interested in attending the event can participate in the fun run individually or as a team.

Participants can take part in either the 2.5km or the 5km race comprised of a fun tour and a discovery route with different stations and points within the school grounds.

Tickets cost R50 each and are sold at the school’s finance office.

Upon registration, participants will receive a race number at the main gate. Sports administrator at the school, Khwezi Shangase said the idea behind the event was to engage with the community, stakeholders, parents and schoolchildren and enjoy a day of fitness and fun activities.

“It’s a day where Midrand High School opens its gates to the community to say come on in and have fun with us,” Shangase said.

The first 10 participants to cross the finish line will receive a medal and all proceeds of the day would be used to upgrade the school’s pavilion.

A braai and picnic area will be available on the day. “There will be hampers, medals and many giveaways on the day. Food and refreshments will also be on sale. We will have live music and DJs keeping the energy up and many other activities,” concluded Shangase.
