MIDRAND – A boy who cannot speak or hear creates his own vehicle

People of Ivory Park watched in fascination as a young boy travelled across sections of the area with his homemade wooden vehicle.

Ntau Motau cannot speak nor hear. Midrand Reporter came across him in Ivory Park while he was travelling in his ‘car’ and communicated with him in writing. The young man said he built his car in 2015. It is made of wood, old wheelchair wheels, plastic chairs, some bicycle components and plastic crates.

He made it after he struggled to use taxis due to his communication issues.
Motau said his vehicle takes him everywhere he wants to go with ease and he doesn’t have to worry about struggling to communicate with taxi drivers.
