Glen Austin High athletes shine bright

MIDRAND – Glen Austin High School athletes have been selected to compete and represent in provincial tournaments.

 

Glen Austin High School boasts athletes who are multi-talented.

Lethabo Seotloe, who is in Grade 10, participated in the inter-schools athletics competition on 10 February and came first in the 800m and 1500m races.

Seotloe, who is one of the school’s best athletes and also represents the school in the soccer team, proceeded to the District 9 Athletics Meeting which was held at Germiston Stadium on 27 February and came in third in the 1 500m race.

Another athlete who has made the school proud is Lee Crossland, who is in Grade 11. Crossland was chosen to play for the U19 Gauteng paintball team, under the South African National Paintball Association, in the provincial tournament which will be held from 23 and 26 March.

The school’s sports coordinator, Loshnee Iyer, said she was very proud of the athletes. “Hard work, commitment and talent make all things possible and it gives me such joy to see the fruit of my pupils’ hard work,” said Iyer.
