Taxi transporting kids crashes into car dealership

MIDRAND – A taxi transporting schoolchildren crashed through the wall of a car dealership on the corner of New and Munroe roads.

 

Max Cohen of Emer-G-Med said 16 people were injured when a minibus taxi collided with a car on the corner of New and Munroe roads in Midrand on 20 February.

A taxi that was transporting schoolchildren was involved in an accident.

The taxi driver apparently turned in front of oncoming traffic, collided with the car, and veered off the road and through the fence of a car dealership.

Paramedics found that the taxi had been transporting a group of schoolchildren, who sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. The 16 patients were treated at the scene before being transported to various hospitals.

Local traffic authorities were on the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
