Mysterious hit and run in Kyalami

KYALAMI – Hit and run in Kyalami remains a mystery.

 

A man riding his bicycle to work on the morning of 16 January was injured in a hit and run on the R55 in Kyalami.

The victim, who is yet to be identified, was attended to by Netcare 911 and then transported to the nearest hospital for further medical care. According to Netcare 911, reports from the scene indicated that the vehicle which allegedly hit the man did not stop at the scene.When paramedics arrived, they found that the man had sustained serious injuries. The exact details as to the cause of the accident will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.

Spokesperson for Midrand Police Station, Sergeant Matome Thlamela, referred questions to Metro police. Metro police’s Wayne Minnaar said that they had no record of the accident and advised the victim and his family to open a case with the police.

“The case is not on the system. There is a possibility that the matter was not reported to us and the injured man was removed from the scene before it could be reported. We advise him and the family to open a case with the police,” said Minnaar.
