ADT guard catches burglar in the act

MIDRAND – Security company officer stresses importance of installing alarm system and making sure it works all the time.

 

A suspect was caught red-handed after he broke into a home in Mahogany Street in Noordwyk, Midrand, on 10 January.

He apparently made a hole in an outside toilet ceiling, crawled along the rafters, and jumped into the bathroom in the main house. While he was ransacking the house, however, the alarm was triggered.

ADT reaction officer Sinethemba Bhebhe responded and managed to arrest the suspect while he was still inside the house. He handed him over to Midrand police.

Midrand police operations commander, Captain Lionel Chetty, confirmed the attempted break-in and arrest. ADT community development manager, Danny Maringa, congratulated the police and Bhebhe on their swift reaction. “This highlights just how important it is to have your security system working and active at all times,” Maringa said.
