Taxi collision in Kyalami

MIDRAND – A taxi collided with another vehicle on the corner of the R55 and Allandale Road.

 

A taxi collided with another vehicle at the corner of the R55 and Allandale Road in Kyalami on 9 January at around 8am.

Emer-G-Med dispatched multiple vehicles to the scene. Emer-G-Med’s Max Cohen said, “It is alleged that the taxi driver skipped a red traffic light, colliding with another vehicle at the intersection, leaving 12 people with injuries ranging from minor to serious.”

Taxi accident caused traffic delays in Kyalami.

Three patients sustained serious injuries that required advanced life support intervention and the other patients were assessed and treated at the scene before being transported to various nearby hospitals for further management.

The injured were transported to various hospitals including Tembisa, Helen Joseph and Sunninghill.

Metro police officers were at the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
