Ready or not, 2017 is here

JOBURG - Welcome to 2017 Joburg

It’s a new year, a new beginning and the start of something great, or it’s just another day, depending on how one chooses to view the world – either way, 2017 has arrived!

The North Eastern Tribune news team wishes you and your loved ones a happy New Year. May it be a prosperous one, with success, laughter and joy.
Although there are many ways to celebrate the new year, there is one that remains constant … The start of the new year brings with it opportunity, whether you acknowledge it or not.

When reading articles about the classes of 2016 and their achievements, it is clear that our future is in good hands. As these ambitious young minds head to university to become experts in their field of choice, I can only wish them the very best and know that in a few years from now, when they enter the job market, South Africa will be a better place.

For those students who did not pass their final exams, life as you know it is not over! Hold your heads high and know that there is something out there that you are going to excel at. Find that something that you are passionate about and aim towards it.

As a new wave of young minds enters the already saturated job market, my plea to you is to have patience and be creative, as it may take some time before you find the job you want or the salary you had hoped for. Not everything is going to be as simple as you thought, and finding a career path that’s perfect for you is going to take time.

Remember, starting at the bottom and working your way up is not a death sentence and sometimes a little bit of determination can go a long way.
Best of luck for the year ahead, Joburg. The North Eastern Tribune looks forward to sharing your stories and celebrating your good news with the rest of the community.
