MIDRAND - Midrand High School obtained a 99 per cent pass rate for the class of 2016.

Midrand High School has obtained a 99 per cent pass rate for their 2016 matric class. The school saw an increase from their 95.8 per cent pass rate for the class of 2015.
About 63 per cent obtained a bachelor’s pass, with 30 per cent receiving a diploma pass and the remaining 5 per cent receiving certificates.

The top achiever was Nimmy Sajan, who walked away with seven As and a 90.6 per cent aggregate. She was followed by Trishkaya Harisunker with six As and one B; and the third top achiever was Sikho Peyana with five As and two Bs. The acting principal Camy Reddy said she is proud of the youngsters’ successes and thanked all the teachers for their hard work last year.

Reddy said the school has extra lessons during weekends, and after school classes during the week to assist the youngsters to perform at their best. She added that the school offered the Secondary School Improvement Programme, courtesy of the Department of Education.

“The school only had two learners that failed and hope to do better with the class of 2017 in obtaining a 100 per cent pass.”
Reddy concluded by urging the parents to work together with the school to ensure the best results for their children.
