A helping hand

MIDRAND – SPCA inspector's compassion leads to a shelter for dogs at their home.

Midrand SPCA inspector, Jerry Seemise received a complaint recently about a property where the dogs did not have sufficient shelter.

Seemise responded to the call and found that all the dogs were in a good condition, had water, food and it was evident that the owner loved her dogs very much, but could not afford a proper kennel.

The owner had makeshift shelters on the property that consisted of stacked bricks and wood but was in need of bigger shelters.

The inspector decided that the owner needed a helping hand and drove back to the SPCA and found a slightly damaged wooden dog house. He returned to the property to hand over the dog house and the owner was overcome with joy.
