Two suspects arrested in Waterfall View

MIDRAND – Two people have been arrested and are suspected of break-ins in Waterfall View.

 

On 26 November at about 12pm, the 7Arrows Security tactical response team was alerted of two suspicious people along the road next to the perimeter wall of Waterfall View.

According to Elyse Golovey of 7Arrows, the response team caught the two suspicious males after chasing them. The suspects stated that they were just walking home and ran when they saw the tactical unit as they were scared.

“The tactical officers searched the suspects and found a toy gun, screwdrivers and a wheel spanner in their possession, these items are frequently used by suspects to break into houses. The tactical unit interrogated the suspects who, after a while, stated that they were going to steal electrical cables somewhere along the perimeter of Waterfall View,” alleged Golovey.

Midrand police were contacted and the suspects were arrested for being in possession of housebreaking equipment.

Midrand police operations commander, Captain Lionel Chetty has confirmed the incident and arrest. The suspects will be investigated and could possibly be linked to other house break-ins in Waterfall View estate.
