Tendai Marowa, the founder of a company which aims to empower designers and entrepreneurs, called The Legacy of True Beauty, has launched a new project called, Gentleman’s Legacy and she’s got a number of A-listers backing her.
The Gentleman’s Legacy is a platform that Marowa has created with the help of local entrepreneur, Maps Maponyane, to allow men who have established themselves in a corporate setting to work with and inspire men who are just starting out in the professional world.
“It’s about collaborating and bringing men together to network and possibly inspire each other to do great things. You have a lot of women’s events where women are able to network, but you don’t see as many for men,” said Marowa.
With the project’s first event taking place on 26 November, which be an all-male networking party, it was important for Marowa to identify men who could be looked up to by other men.
Kent Henderson, brand marketing manager at Open Food Group, and model, is on board with Gentleman’s Legacy and is excited to help Marowa start growing a legacy for many young men, developing his own legacy, at the same time.
“To me [a legacy] is not about a memory of someone; it’s about the constant value that you leave behind. I would like to have my own brand consultancy agency so that I can say that I’ve touched on many brands – that’s the sort of legacy I’d like to leave behind,” Henderson explained.
With that in mind, Marowa would, therefore, like to assist men to achieve their personal and professional goals by connecting them with the right people.
Henderson will be among a number of successful entrepreneurs and aspiring professionals who will kick off the legacy that is the Gentleman’s Legacy at the Hamilton Boutique Hotel in Craighall Park.
