Midrand road upgrade soon to be completed

MIDRAND – Find out which road in Midrand is soon to be completed.

Lever Road in Midrand has been under construction for two years in an attempt to minimise traffic congestion, however, it will soon be completed – much to the delight of motorists.

Construction company AEB is responsible for the road construction and is set to complete the road upgrade by the end of December.

Ninth Road in Midrand has also recently been closed because of the upgrades. Numerous residents have complained about the high traffic congestion in the area, along with potholes and damaged roads. More and more residential areas and shopping centres are being built around these roads resulting in the traffic congestion.

Ward 112 councillor Madeleine Hicklin said the road construction is part of the usual upgrades but she is not certain of which roads have been targeted for the upgrades.

Other road upgrades in Country View and Blue Valley were completed on 11 November.

The Johannesburg Roads Agency said more road upgrades are taking place around Midrand, but due to the recent storms, sections of the roads were further damaged when the water seeped under the roads, delaying the roadworks.
