Midrand SPCA left in the dark

MIDRAND – Midrand SPCA was without electricity since the early hours of the morning on 17 November.

The Midrand SPCA did not have electricity most of 17 November.

According to the inspector and manager of the centre, Jerry Seemise, the matter was reported to Eskom at about 9am, but is yet to be fixed.

Seemise said he suspected cable theft was to blame for the cut in electricity supply after he went to check the electricity box and found that cables had been removed.

Eskom has confirmed that the case has been reported to them and said the first report was rejected due to a lack of information and the second report came in at 10.30am. Eskom said the problem would take about five hours to fix and the electricity utility was currently waiting for the material to fix the problem.
