The new old masters

MULDERSDRIFT– The Art People gallery will be treating art fanatics with an eight-day exhibition of modernized paintings of the Old Masters.

Are you a fan of world-famous artists, Goya, Dürer, Da Vinci, Tintoretto and many others?
If so, then you’re in for a treat as famous Johannesburg artist, Lois Sangari brings you works of the old masters in the form of modernised paintings at The Art People gallery in Muldersdrift on 27 November.
The Kyalami-based Sangari, who is also an expert dressage rider, offers a unique theme running through her works, including a Delacroix battle scene, with horses painted in a modern twist. Her fellow artist, Susan Orpen will exhibit a wide range of subject matter from political to personal.
The exhibition, that runs until 4 December, will open with cheese and wine and a live band at noon. The gallery comprises a wide range of paintings which can be purchased as gifts. It also features an amusing patio for its patrons.
