Brenda Lucas, chairperson of the Midrand SPCA, thanked Absa Barclays for its support during the association’s Mad Month.
The financial institution donated blankets, painted tyres and made various other toys for the cats and dogs in the animal shelter’s care.
Lucas said the toys were important for the stimulation of the animals.
“The Absa team donated items such as sand shells for the dogs that we fill up with water for the dogs to play in and they also gave the dogs a bath and socialised with the cats,” added Lucas.
The blankets will be sold which Lucas said would generate much-needed income and any spare ones would be used for the animals in the kennels to keep them warm.
“Absa has been a supporter of the Midrand SPCA for many years and we greatly value their continued support,” Lucas concluded.
