Taxi drivers brush up on customer care

MIDRAND – The Ivory Park Taxi Association promises a world-class taxi experience.

Ivory Park Taxi Association drivers received certificates at a ceremony held in Midrand.

More than 150 taxi operators including queue marshals of the association, received certificates after they successfully completed a Customer Care Training course.

The course was offered by Delight Your Passenger (DYP), a social responsibility initiative established in 2013 by Ratile Research Company.

Chairman of the association, Johannes Mkhonza, also gave R500 to each taxi driver at the awards ceremony as a form of encouragement and appreciation for always looking smart and being professional.

Mkhonza said, “The association is praised for the dress code of our drivers. The taxi industry is changing, we need to be part of this change as the vehicles are our tools to generate income for our families.”

Justice Hlongwane, who spoke on behalf of other drivers said, “I have learnt one or two things at training. I am not just a taxi driver but a taxi operator who must prioritise customer care.”

Yster Mogoswane, the association’s treasurer also contributed R200 to each taxi driver.

A representative of Ratile Research, Nonhlanhla Sebola, congratulated the association for the good work that it was doing.
