JW updates meter-reading schedule

JOBURG – Johannesburg Water has set out an updated meter-reading schedule.

The first in-house Johannesburg Water meter reading schedule has been published on the entity’s website, giving consumers a date of when meter readers can be expected to pay a visit.

The City of Johannesburg’s MMC for Environment and Infrastructure Services, Anthony Still said since migrating to full in-house meter readers, resident’s bills may be higher than usual because the estimated consumption has been based on more days than the normal billing cycle of 30 days.

“Residents are, however, assured that the billing system will automatically adjust once an actual reading is taken,” he said.

You can find the schedule HERE. After going to the entity’s website, click on ‘services’ and then ‘meter-reading schedule’ on the drop-down menu.

Tidimalo Chuene, the spokesperson for Johannesburg Water, said on the schedule, the portion letter refers to the area consumers live in. You can find your portion on your monthly bill.

The schedule shows reading up until 8 December this year.

Remember that you can check if a person who claims to be a meter reader, is indeed reading for Johannesburg Water by going to their website, and click on ‘meter reader’ in the ‘services’ drop-down menu.
