BREAKING NEWS: One person confirmed dead in train crash

KAALFONTEIN - Emergency services are on the scene of a horrific train crash on 24 October.

Update – 2.04pm

EMER-G-MED spokesperson Max Cohen said, “Paramedics are on the scene of a train crash where two trains have collided on the rail split from Kaalfontein Station towards Oakmoor and Tembisa Stations, in Esselen Park.”

He added that at this stage one person has been declared dead and is entrapped within the trains’ wreckage it is estimated that upwards of 50 passengers have sustained minor to moderate injuries.

EMER-G-MED has dispatched additional ambulances and Advanced Life Support response vehicles to the scene.

Spokesperson for EMER-G-MED Max Cohen said that they have dispatched multiple vehicles to reports of a train crash near the Kaalfontein train station in Esselen Park.
