Ivory Park police officers arrested a man on 2 October who allegedly raped his mother in Ivory Part Ext 2.
The suspect, aged 24, was arrested shortly after a case of rape was opened against him by his mother.

Ivory Park Police Station spokesperson, Captain Bernard Matimulane said, “It is alleged that the 54-year-old woman had an argument with her son after he allegedly demanded that he be bought a taxi for his own use. It is also alleged that the suspect committed this act the whole night, right up until 3am the next morning.

“The suspect appeared in Tembisa Court Magistrates’ Court on 3 October facing the charge of rape. His case is being handled by the local Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit of the South African Police Service.”

Acting station commander of Ivory Park Police Station, Colonel Baba Mpotoane expressed shock at this incident and thanked his officers for their swift arrest of the suspect.
