4 nabbed for stolen generator in President Park

MIDRAND – Put tracking devices on valuable movable property or goods so that they can be recovered quickly if stolen.

 

Midrand police arrested four suspects aged between 18 and 31 for possession of suspected stolen property at a plot in President Park.

Midrand police spokesperson Constable Matome Tlamela said police received a tip-off regarding a stolen generator that had a tracking device and followed up on the information.

“The tracker signal directed police to the plot and, upon arrival, police found four men who, when they saw the police, tried to run away. The men were caught and arrested and the generator was recovered and handed over to the owner.”

All four suspects will soon appear in the Midrand Magistrates’ Court facing charges of possession of suspected stolen property.

“We advise community members to put tracking devices on their movable properties so that the goods or property can be recovered quicker if it is stolen,” said Tlamela.
