VVRA’s AGM a success

MIDRAND – Details of the VVRA's Annual General Meeting.

The Vorna Valley Residents Association (VVRA) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) recently.

The meeting sought to build relationships with residents, businesses, other community organisations and other interested parties, to improve the communication and engagement mechanisms between residents and ratepayers and the City of Johannesburg and to raise meaningful funds to ensure effective operations within the association.

During the meeting, the association thanked Pikitup for assisting in the cleaning of the illegal dumpsite on Maple Road in Kyalami Hills and shared success stories from throughout the year.

Various issues were logged by attendees of the meeting, which the association promised to address and monitor.

The association discussed some improvements which have taken place, such as replacing power boxes on pavements with new protective boxes, receiving new smart meters, and the installation of fibre in some of the residences in the area.

Along with all the positive improvements which have taken place in Vorna Valley, according to the association, the community still faces many challenges including the dangers of fireworks, as well as illegal signs, sewage and water leaks, and the lack of community involvement.
