UPDATE: Student shot in face during protest
JOBURG - EFF members have embarked on a protest at the Nelson Mandela Bridge.
UPDATE: A student has been shot in the face after police allegedly opened fire on protesters with rubber bullets earlier this afternoon in Braamfontein just before the Nelson Mandela Bridge, where the CEO Sleepout is currently underway.
It is believed that the students were protesting against poor living conditions and being charged high rental rates.
According to the Northcliff Melville Times, students gathered because of the student accomadation at South Point.
The protest was a combined effort of Wits, UJ, Rosebank College and Damelin students and was led by the student body of the EFF.
According to reports, police used stun grenades and fired rubber bullets. The student who was left severely injured by a rubber bullet that was fired into his face was taken away by JMPD officers.

Idea that CEOs pretending to sleep on street shows real empathy is a joke. Just gross, disrespectful PR stunt #ceosleepout2016
