Bags and bags of warmth for Mandela

MIDRAND – Spreading warmth in schools and homes in Ivory Park and Tembisa.

African Bank employees got together at their head office in Midrand this week to donate clothing, shoes and warm bedding in celebration of Mandela Day.

Many bags filled with clothing and bedding were collected and will be distributed to schools and homes in the surrounding areas of Ivory Park and Tembisa, as part of African Bank’s greater community commitment in Gauteng.

African Bank chief executive officer, Brian Riley, commented that, in true African Bank spirit, staff members exceeded expectations to make this initiative a resounding success.

Riley added,”It was a small sacrifice to have taken the time to find a few things in our family’s wardrobes to donate to others, who will probably never have the luxury of being able to do the same for someone else. We’re tremendously proud of our team and I thank each and every one of them for their commitment to the company’s corporate social investment programme.”
