Campaign to raise awareness of robberies in Ivory Park

MIDRAND – Residents urged to be alert as robberies increase in Ivory Park Ext 15 in Midrand.

Ivory Park Police Station, the Social Crime Prevention Unit, the Youth Desk and the Ivory Park Community Policing Forum recently conducted a door-to door campaign in Ivory Park Ext 15.

The spokesperson for Ivory Park Police Station, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said police distributed pamphlets with emergency telephone numbers for the police, the sector manager, Vispol commander and the sector vehicle.

Ivory Park police officers and community members speak to a family about crime in the area.

Sekgobela revealed that the campaign was also due to the rise in crime in the area. “Residents have complained to police about a rise in robberies where criminals rob people of their cellphones near Ivory Park Ext 15. Residents are encouraged to phone the numbers they were given whenever they are experiencing problems regarding crime.”
