Join Gekco for snare clean-up

KYALAMI - The Greater Kyalami Conservancy (Gekco) together with the Sector 4 Policing Forum will host a snare clean-up for Mandela Day.

The Greater Kyalami Conservancy (Gekco) together with Sector 4 Policing Forum will host a snare clean-up for Mandela Day on 16 July from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the Inanda Country Base Clubhouse, Rose Road, Kyalami.

All are welcome to join. Bring rubbish bags and gloves for a walk in the veld to remove snares to make the area safer for wildlife and cleaner for all to enjoy.

The area is home to a variety of wildlife, endangered grass owls, hedgehogs as well as jackal and mongoose who often fall prey to snares.

The conservancy would also like to encourage all residents to check their properties, especially along perimeter walls and fences and remove any wire snares and traps that are found.
