Invite to mental health group leaders
ALEXANDRA – Mental health support group leaders are invited for free training.
Non-profit organisation, the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (Sadag), in partnership with Netcare, is inviting mental health support group leaders from Alex and surrounding areas to a free mental health workshop on 12 July from 10am to 12pm midday.
It will be held at St Hubert’s Catholic Church, situated on the corner of 1st Avenue and Rev Sam Bhuti Street, opposite the Pan African Mall.
The workshop is part of Sadag’s celebration of July as Mental Health Awareness Month. It will enhance participants’ knowledge and skills to assist those living with depression, anxiety and stress, and will provide tips for managing symptoms and treatment.
Support groups are a safe place to offer those suffering from mental illness with warmth and support and to connect them and their loved ones with others who have gone through similar situations. This is especially important for those with a mental illness in communities with little or no resources to deal with the condition.
