Summerhill School supports Midrand SPCA on Tekkie Day

MIDRAND – Staff from a school in Midrand put their best foot forward and get involved in a worthy cause.

The staff of Summerhill School in Midrand opened their hearts and purses to support National Tekkie Tax Day with the Midrand SPCA as the school’s charity of choice.

A teacher at the school, Stephanie Black, organised the initiative and said, “Staff wore very colourful and funky shoe laces and animal stickers to raise much-needed funds for the Midrand SPCA. In total we raised R830. We wanted to donate money towards helping all of those very special animals.”

Midrand SPCA chairperson, Brenda Lucas said, “We appreciate the support shown towards our society from Summerhill School and we are truly grateful for the funds raised on behalf of our animals. We hope that all involved had loads of fun spiffing up their takkies and participating in National Tekkie Tax Day on behalf of the animals. This was our first year ever to participate in National Tekkie Tax Day and we were overwhelmed with the support received by the public.”

Details: Midrand SPCA 011 265 9935.
