Kitty and Puppy Haven is open for adoption

MIDRAND - Kitty and Puppy Haven have some adorable animals who are looking for their fur-ever homes.

Kitty and Puppy Haven is an animal home that takes in abandoned and stray animals.

Candice Shaer, chairwoman of the sanctuary spoke to Midrand Reporter about four of their residents looking for permanent homes.

“McNugget was found abandoned in a terrible condition at a home. He is now two years old and he is such a loving, friendly cat,” said Shaer. She said he suffers from grass allergies and gets an itchy rash so he needs a home where he can be mostly an indoor cat.

“Poppet is the most adorable female beagle cross, not even a year old. She has a deformed front foot but otherwise, she is happy and healthy and the friendliest little girl.”

Forget-me-not is a unique name for a dog with lots of character, said Shaer. “She is funny and has a lovely personality. She was rescued from Soweto and was just skin and bone when she arrived. She has one of the best furry smiles at the haven.”

After the emigration of his owners, Brownie was left in the care of the owners’ gardener. “The man arrived at the sanctuary in tears with [Brownie] on a chain because [he could not afford him]. This gentle giant desperately misses being in a home and absolutely loves attention,” said Shaer.
