Small business grows others

PRESIDENT PARK – A young businessman who was once homeless is promoting unity among small businesses and pan-Africanism.

I am Branded Media is open for business, this according to Simo Maholwana, the founder of the branding, advertising and printing company.

“We provide business services such as designing logos and printing for advertisements,” said Moholwana. The genius in his approach is that he is deliberately targeting small business to do business with him. “That is not to exclude big businesses that would like to partner with me,” he said. The company tailors packages to suit the individual businesses’ pockets.

“I am also a small businessman, I am approachable. With the little you have to invest in advertising you can come to us and we will package it for you.”

“There are people with ideas, [because of the lack of capital] they don’t realise how successful they can be. So we meet with people that have those ideas and we give them a way forward,” Moholwana said. He advises entrepreneurs on where and how to get capital to grow their businesses while helping to advertise their businesses with a package that suits them.

“The aim is to partner with them while they are still growing so that when they do reach their potential we will still be there to provide them with big campaigns,” said Maholwana. Loyalty is not the only thing that Maholwana wants to promote. “I want us to unite as Africans as well as business people,” he said. He said this ideology came after he left his native province, the Eastern Cape, for Gauteng. “For three weeks I was homeless and did not have anywhere to sleep. But I had this mentality that I can be anywhere in South Africa but it is still my home,” he said. “I don’t want to go deep into the reasons I was homeless but I am now living in President Park and my business is based there as well, this period in my life helped me grow.”
