Midrand High School’s matrics bid farewell

MIDRAND – A night of glitz and glamour was held to celebrate the Midrand High School Grade 12 pupils.

Life is also made up of glitz and glamour, even if it is only for a day.

On 18 March, the matric ball was set to be one of the schooling career highlights for many Midrand High School Grade 12 pupils. The event marked the end of a long journey, but it was also the celebration of the next step into a bright future.

‘Hollywood Glamour’ was the theme of this year’s five-star event which was hosted at The Venue at Melrose Arch in Rosebank. The setting was truly a glamorous affair, complemented by the pupils arriving in gorgeous cars and dressed to the nines.

A fun programme was hosted by the group’s elected leaders and included the ‘Hollywood Glamour Awards’.

Pupils received awards in categories like, The Joker of the Grade, The Best Mover of the Grade, King or Queen of Hair and Individual Most Likely to Succeed, to name a few.

Almarie van Zyl, the school’s principal, gave a sincere and moving address to her beloved pupils as this was her last matric ball before retiring later this year.
