Students visit police station and court and see what being a cop takes

MIDRAND - Students are given a peek into what their chosen career could be like by spending time at the police station and court.

A total of 27 students who are undergoing basic South African Police Service training at Pretoria West College, recently spent time shadowing police officers at Rabie Ridge Police Station.

Spokesperson for Rabie Ridge Police Station, Constable Jacob Nhlongo said, “We gave the students exposure by taking them to Tembisa Magistrates’ Court for them to see how courts operate and took them to [the] 10111 [call centre] in Midrand where complaints and emergency calls are handled at the call centre until they reach patrol vehicles.”

One of the students, Ndzalama Ngonyama, said she was very excited to join the service. She continued by saying that when she is done with her studies she will serve the community with pride.
