Public Spaces is a new, experimental mixed-media poetry installation that will take place in Braamfontein for one day only. Nicholas Rawhani, a photographer, narrative artist, poet and student is also one-third of The Uncultured Club – a Tumblr account filled with fantastic, artistic photographs.
Rawhani will be at the Kalashnikovv Gallery and although it is not a market, there is nothing to buy, you’ll be filled with beauty in the form of words.

It’s the third annual Easter All White Picnic and it’s going to be egg-straordinary! The #EAWPicnic2016 is the ultimate Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Social Festival. This Easter-themed outdoor funfair is where all the grandest ladies and gents dress all in white to spend the day sipping on fine beverages and dancing away.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own cooler boxes, camp chairs and picnic baskets and enjoy the fun of Easter with friends and family.

Launch of Ameera Patel’s Outside the Lines

This may not be happening over the weekend but you can take time out of your week to support local talent. Ameera Patel will be launching her debut novel, Outside the Lines, a thriller and family drama. The story is about two women – Cathleen, a troubled young woman who lives in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg and Flora, the domestic worker who takes care of Cathleen’s house. When Cathleen goes missing, tension and drama ensue in a thrilling read.
Patel is best known for her role as Dr Chetty in Generations, as well as her roles on stage. This is her first novel and guests will be able to chat with her while enjoying a glass of wine and tasty snacks.
