The hospital’s spokesperson, Karabo Motsoagae said, “The Department of Health uses pregnancy awareness week, from 8 to 14 February, to strengthen education and stress important issues that promote a healthy pregnancy and safe motherhood.”
The workshop will comprise presentations, tips and demonstrations about the importance of early antenatal care for pregnant mothers. Early antenatal care enables doctors to exclude and manage existing conditions which can be aggravated by pregnancy, such as hypertension, diabetes, infections and anaemia.
