International new business development manager for Netcare911, Lizelle Kemp, said the donation will help children learn about the different medical procedures they have to go through and what instruments doctors use to assess their state of health – while they also get a chance to play with the toys.
Kemp added, “The toys will also help them to forget about what they are going through at such a young age. We can only imagine the pain they are going through.”
Netcare has provided radiotherapy since 1989 and treats over 3 100 patients per year in the oncology units.
Campaigns and events co-ordinator of the foundation, Zwanga Mulovhedzi, received the toys on behalf of the children and staff at the foundation and said children will love the toys and that the donation is much appreciated.
