‘White-hating’ Velaphi Khumalo investigated

JOHANNEBSURG – An employee of the Gauteng Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation Department has found himself in hot water due to a racist rant he posted on Facebook.

After Penny Sparrow’s tweet, where she referred to black South Africans as ‘monkeys’, Velaphi Khumalo posted his own rant on his Facebook page, stating that ‘white people in South Africa deserve to be hacked and killed like Jews’.

It has been reported that the SA Jewish Board of Deputies will also lay a complaint against him with the SA Human Rights Commission, national director Wendy Kahn revealed in a statement.

The department has begun an internal disciplinary process against Khumalo due to his racist comments.

In a report published by News24, MEC of the department, Faith Mazibuko, stated that the department views the ‘hateful post by Velaphi Khumalo in a serious light’. “Our key mandate is nation building and social cohesion.
