Man dies after fall in Midstream

MIDSTREAM - ER24 has released a statement detailing the fatal fall of a 28-year-old man on the night of 4 January in Midstream.

 

According to the emergency service’s blog, the man succumbed to his injuries after he fell 15m off scaffolding at a warehouse in Brakfontein Road in Midstream.

ER24 paramedics arrived at the warehouse where they found the patient lying beneath the scaffolding. The man had sustained severe injuries to his head and chest and was in a critical condition. Paramedics treated the patient and provided him with advanced life support intervention. He was then transported to Mediclinic Midstream where he was further stabilised before being airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a private hospital in Johannesburg for urgent treatment. En route the man was declared dead.
