Ivory Park police say no to domestic violence

MIDRAND - Ivory Park Police Station, Tembisa Cluster stations and members of Metro police recently held Operation Basadi, led by female police officers, to promote 16 Days of Activism For No Violence against Women and Children.

 

The operation took place at Ivory Park extensions 15 and 2 under the command of Brigadier Kgoroba of Kempton Park Police Station.

Pamphlets to sensitise members and the community to domestic violence were distributed to motorists and pedestrians. Condoms were also distributed to members of the community to promote World Aids Day.

Ivory Park police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said, “Police conducted roadblocks as well as stop-and-search operations and, during the operation, four suspects were arrested, two for drinking liquor in a public place while the other two are illegal immigrants.”
