R8-million worth of Sansui tablets stolen

MIDRAND - The Gauteng Flying Squad is largely credited for the successful recovery of R8-million worth of Sansui tablets in Midrand.

Midrand Police Station commander Colonel Steven Moodley took to Facebook to commend the squad on a job well done on the arrests and recovery made at a house on President Street.

Gauteng police spokesperson, Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng said, “Police followed information they received following the hijacking of a horse and trailer in the early hours of 18 November.” The horse and trailer were hijacked near Heidelberg. The police received a tip-off of where the horse and trailer was stashed in Midrand.

As the police approached the house, the owner of the house fled the scene, however three men who are between the ages of 21 and 37 were found and arrested onsite.

“In addition to the horse and trailer, R8-million worth of Sansui tablets were recovered, a Hyundai H1, an Opel Corsa bakkie and home appliances were recovered,” said Mofokeng.
