Midrand Christian College hosts Art Exhibition and Auction

MIDRAND - Midrand Christian College recently hosted its annual Art Exhibition and Auction.

The college’s art department head, Darleen van Tonder, said pupils and parents enjoyed a vibrant auction where artworks created by pupils were sold. “Over 750 artworks were on display for parents to bid on in a silent auction, and 30 specific pieces were chosen for the live auction. We were delighted to be joined by a professional art auctioneer from Cape Town, Phillippa Duncan, to support [the sale of] our pupil’s art,” she said.

The artworks sold from R100 upwards and the top selling artwork was auctioned and sold for R6 000.

“The highlight for the children was seeing their parents bidding against each other for the artworks. Thanks to everyone who attended the event and to all our pupils who showed that they are creative young art masters,” said Van Tonder.
