Where to find Wi-Fi in Jozi

JOHANNESBURG – There’s nothing more frustrating than having no data … luckily, the City of Johannesburg is making sure that Jozi residents stay connected thanks to a number of free wi-fi hotspots throughout the city.

There are also reports that the city plans to roll out a further 1 000 hotspots by the end of 2015.

So where can you go to connect and share? We’ve compiled a list of some great spots!

Dahleah’s – This fantastic little eatery tucked away in Braamfontein has some great chow and free wi-fi! Find it at 6 De Beer Street.

Stanley Beer Yard – Portuguese finger foods, pet-friendly and it has a selection of tasty craft beer? This is a must visit! Find it at 44 Stanley Avenue, Milpark.

Mr Big Stuff – If you’re looking for unconventional food and a chilled out vibe, this is the place to be. And the free wi-fi will let you instantly share that snap of their delish mac and cheese squares with your friends. Find it at 87 Juta Street, Braamfontein.

The Canteen – This spot in the Maboneng Precinct is often described as a mobile office as it’s a great place to set up for the day. There’s some killer coffee on the menu, plus a load of tasty treats to fill up on, all while you work your little fingers to the bone.

Olives and Plates – Everyone is raving about the new eatery

at Wits. The cake display alone is the stuff dreams are made of and it’s pretty much always packed with trendy students and hipsters working on their thesis.

Find it at the Wits West Campus, Corner of Empire and Yale Roads.
