Botshabelo Babies Home to host annual Kiddies Carnival and Christmas market

CROWTHORNE - Preparations are well underway for the Botshabelo Babies Home’s annual Christmas Market, Twilight Carols and Kiddies Carnival, and young and old can enjoy an array of stalls with diverse offerings ranging from great food, gifts and entertainment.

Makopano Mutloatse of Botshabelo said, “The event, which is hosted together with Urban Life Church, is the highlight of the year for the team at Botshabelo. The little ones in our care are looking forward to it, and all who will join in on the fun.”

The event is also a fundraising initiative for the babies home, which takes care of children who have been abandoned, given up for adoption or removed from their families. The home works closely with their social workers to ensure that each child is placed in a ‘forever family’, either through adoption or reunification.

Botshabelo is inviting individuals and companies to sponsor or donate towards a carnival ride, which costs from R2 000 to R5 000 each.

Parents attending the event will be charged R80 per child. The child is then given a bracelet that allows for participation in the entire carnival which includes:

  •  Unlimited rides on the bungee ride
  •  Unlimited tries at each of the 10 booths offering games such as ladder golf, toilet bowl toss, ping pong water gun, putt-putt, sponge toss and Little Kickers Soccer Fun. Each game offers prizes for the participants
  •  Unlimited access to the Clamber Club
  •  A face painting session
  •  A DIY treat where children can decorate their own Christmas tree – an upside down ice cream cone, which the child ices with green icing and decorates with candy
  •  A DIY craft.

For an additional R20, children can also have their photograph taken with Father Christmas.

Join in the Carols by Twilight at 7pm and shop for your Christmas gifts at the Market by Moonlight, which offers a selection of toys, books, gifts and more.

The event will take place at Botshabelo Babies Home, 64 Main Road, R55, in Crowthorne, on 27 November from 5pm to 9pm.
