Bikers and residents to donate blood during memorial service this weekend in Midrand

MIDRAND- The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) will join the annual CMA Biker Memorial Run on 1 November as bikers gather to commemorate fallen bikers.

 

Thatayaone Mosasane public relations practitioner for SANBS said, “We will be part of this massive event as bikers will be donating blood to save lives. South Africa requires over a million units of donated blood every year. The SANBS needs to collect 3000 units a day. Every 35 seconds somebody in South Africa receives donated blood.” Go and donate blood and sign up as an organ donor at Midrand Bikers Church, 126 Kruger Road, Midrand. Blood donations start from 8 to 2pm. A memorial service for bikers will be at 9am.

There will be parking for 1500 bikes and many cars, non-bikers are also welcome.

Pretoria departure point is the Shell UltraCity on the N1 southbound at Samrand, leaving at 8am.

Johannesburg Departure point for mass rides to the event at 7am Holeshot Motorcycles Boksburg, 7.30 Comaro Off Ramp in the South, 8am BP Oasis N1 North to Bikers Church.

You can also donate blood at the Midrand Blood Donor Centre on Thursdays from 8am to 6pm at Gallagher Place Unit 4 and 5 Corner Suttie and Richards drive, Midrand.
