Housebreakers hit Vorna Valley and Halfway Gardens

MIDRAND - Midrand police responded to a house break-in on 4 and 11 October.

Spokesperson of Midrand police, Constable Matome Tlamela said, “On 4 October, criminals broke into a complainant’s house in Halfway Gardens at 10am. Suspects used an unknown instrument to gain entry through the kitchen door. They stole electrical appliances and jewellery valued at R30 000.”

The complainant was not home at the time of the break-in but told police that she had made sure all the windows were closed and doors were locked. When she returned home, she found that her door was damaged and property had been stolen.

On 11 October, another house break-in and theft case was reported to Midrand police by a Vorna Valley resident. “The complainant is yet to give police a full list of his property that was stolen. The complainant told police that his burglar door was tampered with by criminals to gain entry into his property.”

Midrand police are investigating both cases. No suspects have been arrested yet.
