Man wanted for questioning for fraud case

MIDRAND - Rabie Ridge police are on the hunt for a man in connection with a fraud case in Phomolong, Midrand, on 3 March.

Police spokesperson Constable Jacob Nhlongo said, “It is alleged that the complainant wanted to sell a motor vehicle, a Kia Picanto, to the man wanted for questioning. The suspect then allegedly deposited a cheque which later bounced.”

The complainant took a photograph of the man, now wanted for questioning, during the initial car sale negotiations and later handed it over to police after the cheque bounced. Police are looking for the vehicle, which was given to the alleged fraudster upon the handover of the cheque, and the suspect has not been reachable since then.

Anyone who recognises the man in the photo can contact Constable Jacob Nhlongo at Rabie Ridge Police Station on 071 675 7393 or 011 310 0413.
